Taking phone orders into Linnworks faster: a workflow that works
The worst version of a phone order: scribble it on paper, promise to confirm, type it into Linnworks later, discover a query, ring the customer back. Two touches, one delay, plenty of scope for error.
The one-touch standard
The goal is simple: the order is in Linnworks before the call ends. Everything about the workflow follows from that — you need live stock in front of you, the customer's account and addresses one search away, and their pricing applied without looking anything up.
The workflow
Answer the call with the order screen open. Search the customer by name — their addresses and pricing history load. Add lines as they read them out, checking live stock as you go so you can flag shorts immediately. Apply their price tier automatically, override any negotiated line, read the total back, submit. Done — the warehouse can pick it while the customer is still saying goodbye.
What it needs underneath
A customer database built from your Linnworks order history, live SKU search, per-customer price memory and tier pricing. Trade Order POS ships all four. Our own reps run this exact workflow daily.
